As an emerging Sydney-based artist, Cade is greatly inspired by Impressionism and its ability to emphasise unique impressions and moods in objects and scenes. In early 2009, he began to develop an Impressionist photographic style, focussed on highlighting the raw elements of a scene  –  its light, colour, and movement,  rather than the scene or object itself.

“I enjoy challenging traditional photography and blurring the line between what is considered art, and what is considered photography.”

Focussing less on the external reality which photography effortlessly delivers, Cade chooses to challenge photographic conventions, using the camera more as an ‘Impressionist paintbrush’ to paint his works with light.
